Transition Spatial Multipliers
The Transition Spatial Multipliers Property specifies any spatially explicit multipliers to be applied against transition probabilities. Multipliers are specified according to transition group using a GeoTIFF format raster. This raster should overlay exactly with the initial conditions raster files and provides a floating point value of a multiplier which will be applied for each cell against the probability of any transition pathways belonging to the transition group that the raster is specified for. This feature is useful for modifying transition probabilities according to location on the landscape. For example, it can be used to increase fire probabilities for cells adjacent to a road. It can also be used to force transitions for specified locations at specified points in time according to rules from another model (for example, urban development transitions).
The fields for this property are:
Iteration (optional)
This value represents the Iteration for which the the spatial multiplier raster is specified. The the spatial multiplier raster continues through subsequent iterations until another Iteration value is encountered by the model for the same transition group, at which point the new spatial multiplier raster will be applied. If no iteration is specified, the the spatial multiplier raster will be applied across all iterations.
Timestep (optional)
This value represents the Timestep for which the spatial multiplier raster is specified. The spatial multiplier raster continues through time until another Timestep value is encountered by the model for the same transition group, at which point the new values for the spatial multiplier raster will be applied. If no timestep is specified, the spatial multiplier raster will be applied across all timesteps.
Transition Group
Represents the Transition Group for which the spatial multiplier raster is specified.
Multiplier Type (optional)
This is an optional field specifying the Multiplier Type associated with the multiplier.
Multiplier File Name
This field allows you to select a GeoTIFF raster file which will be loaded into the model database. This raster should overlay exactly with the initial conditions raster files and provides a floating point value of a multiplier for each simulation cell.
